Tenncare caqh

Tennessee Medicaid or TennCare and MedCost, a North Carolina insurance company, are now using CAQH to facilitate more timely recredentialing and credentialing processes.  This is a great decision by both plans as they each had problems keeping up with their own recredentialing requirements.  We hope that all insurance companies will begin using CAQH as it makes the whole process much more efficient for all parties involved.

TennCare is not the first state Medicaid program to join CAQH and hopefully it will not be the last.  Currently there are three other states using CAQH for their Medicaid programs, these are Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and New York.

One painful insurance company that we hope to join the ranks is Multiplan/PHCS which is still using some archaic credentialing/recredentialing methods.
